Jacqualine Igwe, PharmD
PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration Specialty Pharmacy Resident
Jacqualine Igwe is currently the PGY-2 Health Systems Pharmacy Administration (HSPA) – Specialty Pharmacy Resident at the University of Chicago Medicine. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Memorial Hospital Pembroke. Yearly, she completes mission trips in her home country, to improve access to health services and medications for patients that need it the most. Her pharmaceutical interests include expansion of outpatient clinical services, quality improvement and population health management. After graduation, she hopes to obtain a position where she can expand outpatient clinical programs to indigent patients. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to podcasts, binge watching Netflix, and eating Chick-Fil-a.
The purpose of the study is to implement and evaluate the impact of a Medication Therapy Management program on patient adherence, pharmacy performance scores, and retroactive direct and indirect remuneration fees.
The objective of the quality improvement initiative "Population Health: Determining the Influence of an Indigent Care Program" was to evaluate the indigent care program provided at Memorial Hospital Pembroke (MHP) in order to improve primary care follow-up and overall patient health outcomes.
Value of the UChicago Program
As the Inaugural resident of the HSPA-Specialty Residency program, I chose UChicago because of its resources and opportunities for growth. UCM provides unique opportunities to expand leadership skills while still honing ambulatory clinical skills. The specialty pharmacy service at UChicago strives to be at the forefront of practice by integrating multiple specialty pharmacies, geared towards providing excellent specialized care for patients. The benefit of UCM is its constant drive for growth and expansion. I am confident that completing my residency at this institution will provide a strong framework for accomplishing my short and long-term goals.
