Dear Future Student Pharmacist Intern,
You are about to embark on an exciting and satisfying journey to being an excellent pharmacist clinician and future pharmacy leader. Your time here at University of Chicago Medicine (UCM) will be filled with new experiences and opportunities for learning. This internship is designed for current pharmacy students who are interested in pursuing a career in an acute hospitalized setting and/or pharmacy administration and leadership. The purpose of this program is to provide a structured experience that includes a breadth of leadership experiences and to foster the development of effective practice and project management skills to augment the students advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) rotations.
During the clinical pharmacy internship at UCM, your time will be spent with the pharmacy leadership team and health system pharmacy administrative residents to begin practical application of acquired graduate level knowledge as well as supporting department initiatives through implementation efforts and project management. The majority of time will be spent in the hospital setting.
