Biography

Joelle Farano is the current PGY1 Health System Pharmacy Administration Resident at the University of Chicago Medicine. She graduated from Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University with her Doctor of Pharmacy and a minor in dance. Previously, she worked as a Junior Recruited Commissioned Officer Student Training Extern Program (JRCOSTEP) in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) on an American Indian reservation in Whiteriver, Arizona. During her years at Ohio Northern University, she was involved in multiple student and professional organizations. Her interests include administration, policy, public health, specialty pharmacy, infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, and transplant. She is looking forward to developing her leadership skills and using her knowledge to advance patient care and the profession of pharmacy.

I will have a solid foundation as a clinical pharmacist and be able to manage health system pharmacies. I am confident that whatever my future pharmacy practice holds in administration, I will be prepared to meet the demands and challenges of the evolving healthcare field.
